The Fairmont Police Department made major arrests in cases involving theft and sexual assault.
On Friday, Fairmont police arrested William Edward Grayson, 53, of Fairmont, on charges of first-degree sexual assault.
According to the criminal complaint, officers attended an interview with a 10-year-old female conducted by the Child Advocacy Center in Fairmont.
In the course of the interview, the girl allegedly claimed that Grayson had touched her inappropriately and engaged in sexual acts with her. Grayson was reportedly interviewed and submitted to a polygraph examination following the original interview.
