Alice Glasscock Swick, 75, of White Island Community in Fairmont, passed away on Thursday (Dec. 19, 2013), in her residence.
She was born Jan. 14, 1938, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Howard L. and Emma L. Hendershot Glasscock.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles Eddie Swick.
Mrs. Swick was a member of the Barrackville Church of Christ. She was a 1956 graduate of East Fairmont High School. She had previously worked with North American Philips Corp. in Fairmont where she worked in the Seal Beam Division. She had been a personnel manager for G.C. Murphy Co., and served with the Bell Telephone Co. in Cleveland and Fairmont. Alice volunteered with the Marion County Meal on Wheels. She was a former driver with the American Cancer Society and a member of the Marion County Senior Citizens.
She served on the class reunion committee for the EFHS Class of 1956. Alice loved quilting, sewing, doll collecting and listening to gospel music.
Survivors include her sons, Craig E. and his wife Helen Swick of Colfax, and Shane E. and his wife Christy Swick of Pleasant Valley; her daughter, Kim and her husband Frank Raines of Colfax; grandchildren, Amanda Raines of Colfax and Joslyn Swick and Grabriel Swick, both of Pleasant Valley; step-grandchildren, Chad Raines of Barrackville and Ginny Kovach and Kristi Toothman, both of Fairmont; and four great-grandchildren, Austin Matheny, Dustin Raines, Maria Raines and Khloe Toothman.
She is also survived by her brothers, Elmer Glasscock of Rivesville, Ronald and his wife Maggie Glasscock of Lander, Wyo., and Randy and his wife Daisy Glasscock of Fairmont; her sisters, Helen and her husband Robert White of Levels Community, Ellen and her husband James Stout of Pleasant Valley, and Kathleen Ice of Morgantown; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Mullens of Nitro; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Glasscock.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Dec. 30, at the Barrackville Church of Christ at 11 a.m., with Evangelist Steve Snider officiating. A Committal Service will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
