Olive Weekly

Olive Joan Weekly, of Worthington, passed away Friday (Jan. 10, 2014), at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

She was born March 24, 1935, in Clarksburg, the daughter of the late Roy Wayne Sandy and Anna Louise Booth Sandy.

Joan enjoyed camping, fishing, and riding her fourwheeler. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who had a a servant’s heart and genuinely liked helping people in need. She worked for many years as a caregiver at St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home in Monongah, and alongside her husband, owned and operated Jim and Jo’s Service Station in Enterprise.

Survivors include her sons, James Weekly Jr. and wife Kathy, John R. Weekly and wife Ramona, Ronnie Weekly and wife Terri, Roger Weekly, and Donald A. Weekly and wife Caroline, all of Little Bingamon; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, James “Bud” Sandy and wife Anita, and Roy “Duck” Sandy and wife Linda, of Enterprise; a sister, Kay Ash, Enterprise; a sister-in-law, Ellen Sandy, Doddridge County; an aunt, Hazel Yeater; an ex-daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Whitecotton Weekly; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Clay “Jim” Weekly Sr.; a sister, Deloris “Dee” Gregory; and a brother, Richard L. Sandy.

Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington, on Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Interment will be in the Weekly Family Cemetery at Little Bingamon.
