Dolly Ruth Hibbs, 83, of Mannington, passed away Tuesday (March 4, 2014) at her residence.
She was born Jan. 12, 1931, at Dead Fall, Wetzel County, a daughter of the late Lloyd Higgins and Sara Starkey Higgins.
Dolly is survived by one son, Thomas William Hibbs of Whetstone Community, Mannington; three grandchildren, Timothy William Hibbs of Mannington, Thomas Eric Hibbs and wife Amanda of Farmington, and Tonya Louise Hibbs of Uniontown, Pa.; step-grandchild, Shawn R. Hibbs and wife Tresha of Mohan’s Run; and great-grandchildren, Easton Hibbs, Trevor Hibbs and Shaylan Clancey.
In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, William Lester Hibbs, who died July 21, 1987; a daughter-in-law, Lorretta Jean Teagarden Hibbs; two sisters, Ota Ensminger and Dola L. Tasker; five brothers, Birchie Higgins, Ralph Higgins, Arles Higgins, Okie Higgins and Bruce Higgins; and several brothers and sisters who died in infancy.
Dolly was a homemaker. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, from 4-9 p.m. today. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Coon officiating. Burial will follow in Whetstone Cemetery.
