Doris Weaver

Doris Jean Weaver, age 82, of Cardinal Lane, Grafton, passed away Thursday (June 6, 2013) at Rosewood Health Care Center in Grafton.

She was born on Jan. 4, 1931, in Grafton, a daughter of Lester Douglas Jacobs and Ada Gladys (Keener).

She is survived by three children, Patti Wilt and husband Scott of Williamsport, Pa., Connie Simmons and husband Hunter Dean of Flemington, and Randy Weaver and wife Jenny of Grafton. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Haylea and Ashley Simmons, and Kristen and Cory Weaver; one brother, Dorsey Jacobs and wife Violet of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris graduated in the Grafton High School Class of 1949 and was a housewife for many years. She was a member of the AARP and the National Association of Multiple Sclerosis. She also enjoyed bowling, crafts, fishing and gardening.

Doris Jean would like to thank the Taylor County Hospice and their caregivers for all their love and care they showed her.

The viewing at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton will be held Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday.

The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor James E. Martin and Pastor Rick Price officiating. Entombment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery in Grafton.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
