Harry Jack Harbert, 88, passed away Wednesday (May 1, 2013) in Forth Worth, Texas.
Jack was born March 22, 1925, to Harry and Flossie Harbert of Fairmont.
Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific. Afterward he attended the University of Miami and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. Jack retired from the Chessie Railroads after 42 years as vice president, administrative services.
He enjoyed church work, dancing, tennis, golf and bowling.
His brother, Richard, preceded Jack in death.
He is survived by his wife, Sophie; daughter, Janet Ewald of Herndon, Va.; sister, Barbara Dzielski of West Virginia; step-daughters, Patricia Likakis and Alisa Costanzo; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Thursday, May 23, at Jack’s home.
