Irene “Pat” Roupe, 89, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday (April 24, 2013) at the Genesis Fairmont Campus Pierpont Center.
She was born on April 26, 1923, a daughter of the late John Lawrence Miller and Catherine Belzora Eliason.
Mrs. Roupe was a graduate of East Fairmont High School. She worked as payroll secretary for Owens-Illinois Corp. at Westinghouse and as a bus driver for the Marion County Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Roupe attended Valley Chapel United Methodist Church and was active at the Senior Center. She also enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and going to the Sagebrush Round Up.
Mrs. Roupe is survived by her son, Bob Roupe and his wife Debbie of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Leslie Forquer and her husband Jordy of Pentress, and Brannon Roupe and his wife Maria of Fairmont; two great-grandchildren, Elania Roupe of Fairmont and Emily Kuhn of Pentress; and two brothers-in-law, Curt Roupe and his wife Marge of Cleveland, Ohio, and Don Boyce and his wife Loretta of Lost Creek.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roupe was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Roupe; three brothers, Lewis Miller, Harold “Red” Miller and Ray Miller; and three sisters, Blanche Miller, Helen Boyce and Gerry Fitzpatrick.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Osburn, Don Loughery, Scott Ginsburg, Kenny Hibbs, Jordy Forquer and Brannon Roupe.
The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, today from 1-9 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Hal Hevener officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
