Francine Bartus-Erb

Francine “Frankie” Bartus-Erb, 37, of Winfield, died Thursday (Dec. 19, 2013), at the Teays Valley Hospital.

She was born June 11, 1976, in Fairmont, a daughter of Frank Jr. and Patricia Schrader Bartus of Fairmont (formely of Rachel).

Frankie was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working in the Teays Valley Hospital in Putnam County, a 1995 graduate of North Marion High School, Kaplian Institute Nursing Program in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was a Baptist by faith. Frankie loved life, was feisty and a fighter — having fought hard the disease that finally took her too soon. She was the love of her family’s life and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is also survived by a daughter, Aubrey “Paige” Erb, at home; her sister and brother-in-law, Rochelle and John Brock, Red House; her maternal grandmother, Roxie Schrader, Fairmont (formerly of Mannington); her fiancé, Kirby Harless, Putnam County; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, David Schrader, and paternal grandparents, Frank Sr. and Gladys Bartus.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation for their friends’ prayers and support during this most difficult time. Private funeral services will be held at the Hutson Funeral Home in Mannington.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
