Clarence Kisner

Clarence W. “Woody” Kisner, 56, of LeRoy, Ill., passed away at 6:05 p.m Wednesday (Dec. 18, 2013), at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, Ill. Pastor Larry Mason will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jesus House or the LeRoy Emergency Ambulance Service.

Mr. Kisner was born June 23, 1957, in Fairmont, to George D. and Beulah V. Karnes Kisner.

Survivors include one sister, Gerri (Jim) Dukich of LeRoy; one nephew, Jimmy (Becky) Dukich; two nieces, Jaynie (Rob) Compton and Janece Stefanov; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and lots of cousins and friends in West Virginia and Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George R. Kisner.

He attended the Jesus House when he lived in Bloomington, Ill.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
