Kevin Whitecotton

Kevin Theodore Whitecotton, 50, of Rivesville, passed away on Jan. 6, 2014, at Fairmont General Hospital.

He was born on August 7, 1963, a son of Deloris Ann Wilson Whitecotton Ferrell of Benton’s Ferry Community and the late Theodore Whitecotton. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Michelle Ruble Whitecotton.

Mr. Whitecotton formerly worked as a mechanic in the local area.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Whitecotton is survived by a son, Dylan Whitecotton of Rivesville; two daughters, Larissa Whitecotton of Rivesville and Jennifer Snyder of Kentucky; a granddaughter, Christina Snyder of Kentucky; three brothers, Clarence Whitecotton and his companion Tonya Campbell of Fairmont, Claude Whitecotton of Fairmont, and Michael Whitecotton and his wife Nancy of Worthington; three sisters, Debbie Hickman and her husband Jim, Donna Horner and her husband Andy, and Tina Brotosky and her husband Mike, all of Fairmont; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, on Friday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Roy Weese officiating. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery & Mausoleum.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
