Marjorie “Granny” Corrick Waugh, 91, of Parrish Run Community, died Wednesday (Oct. 10, 2012) at the Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Randolph County, a daughter of the late Merle and Maude Price Corrick.
Marjorie, or “Granny” as she was lovingly called by so many, was a homemaker who dearly loved her family. She was a member of the Teverbaugh United Methodist Church and formerly a member of the Willow Tree Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert E. and June Whittaker of Phenix City, Ala., and Wilmer “Junior” and Judy Waugh of Rivesville; three daughters, Norma Harris of Parrish Run, Nora Huff and Loretta Griffin, both of Rivesville; a sister-in-law, Mary Corrick of Barton, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer D. Waugh, who died Dec. 4, 1976; a brother, Merle Corrick; a sister who died at birth; two sons who died at birth; two sons-in-law, Oral D. Huff and Robert Griffin; two granddaughters, Robin Donovan and Trica King; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington today from 2-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Scott Hall officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Farmington. Condolences may be accessed at www.hutsonfunralhomes.com.
