Dianna Lynn Schiappa, 66, of Rivesville, passed away Friday (Oct. 19, 2012) at Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born in Lima, Ohio, on May 6, 1946, a daughter of the late John Mohn and Kathryn Rosser Lauver.
Dianna worked at Mom’s Place Restaurant in Fairmont. She was Catholic by faith. She enjoyed playing cards, Yahtzee and bingo. Dianna was always there to help someone in need. She was considered a true “people person” by her friends.
She is survived by four daughters, Kathryn Schiappa and her companion Sam Stenger of Weirton, Rosa Schiappa and her companion Josh Jimmie of Rivesville, Delia Schiappa and her companion Luis Arellano of Rivesville, and Jeannie DiPasquale and her husband Paul of Follansbee; her grandchildren, Josh, Matt, Rose, Ariel, Paul, Tom and his wife Larissa, Meredith, Nicco and Gianna “Gigi”; and three great-grandchildren, Logan, Ellisona and Izabella.
Also surviving are three brothers, Mark Mohn and his wife Vicki of Ohio, Sid Lauver of Fairmont and Jimmy Lauver of Arizona; two sisters, Susie Klash and her husband Ed of Texas, and Linda Robinson and her husband Jack of Arizona; her former husband of 25 years, Elio A. Schiappa of Steubenville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rose Marie Schiappa; one brother, John Mohn; and two sisters, Josephine Satterfield and Jeannie Satterfield.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, her body will be cremated.
Friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home from noon to 1 p.m. Friday. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday.
