Nancy Roberts

Nancy Lee Roberts, 62, of Fairmont, passed away Sunday (June 9, 2013) at Fairmont General Hospital.

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 12, 1950, a daughter of the late James A. and Thelma Paris Roberts.

Nancy was a Methodist by faith. She enjoyed coloring, arts and crafts, and playing bingo.

She is survived by her sister, Judi Scott and her companion Dennis Riffe of Fairmont; and nieces and nephews, Dawn Miller and her husband Keith, Clint Fulmer and his companion Theresa Stapleton, Cassandra Henry and her husband Korey, and Randi Palmer and her husband Jason.

Also surviving are great-nieces and great-nephews, Bruce James Selmon, Keith Jr. Miller, Murice Miller, Issah Miller, Malachi Miller, Devon Miller, Braceon Scott, Dristian Scott, Jezmine Scott, Chase Fulmer, Kanda Henry, Krissia Henry, Keydnl Barney and Koralynn Barney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James A. Roberts II.

In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, her body will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pricketts Fort with Keith Miller officiating.

Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, has been entrusted with arrangements.

Donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family offset funeral costs.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
