Gladys Imogene Carr, 93, of Fairmont, passed away early Friday morning (Aug. 23, 2013) in Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Bannock, Ohio, daughter of the late Samuel Gideon and Nelle Teagarden Poe.
Mrs. Carr was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Fairmont. She retired from Owens Illinois in Fairmont with 42 years of service in the decorating department. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading. Imogene married Herb Carr on Aug. 23, 1945, and passed away on what would have been her 68th anniversary.
Survivors include two daughters, Inda M. Tokash of Newell and Kitty Carr of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Rora M. Tokash of Newell and Ryan M. Tokash of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Louise Gordon of Cambridge, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Green Thorton, and a brother, Willard Poe.
Friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m., with Pastor Tim Shuttlesworth officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont.
