Robert J. Wilson, “Junebug,” 83, died Saturday (Aug. 24, 2013) at his residence.
He was born Oct. 30, 1929. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Post No. 157, past commander and adjutant.
He was a retired civil engineer technician from the Department of Soil and Conservation. He was a former member of Hebrew Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Wilson; father, Robert Lee Wilson; and mother, Janie Greene.
He is survived by his daughters, Joyce (Carl) Hughes of California and Robin (Randall) Wilson-Allen of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Michael, La’Tosha, Charmaine, Lewis, David and Davida; seven great-grandchildren; devoted cousin, Elizabeth Haggood of California; best friend, Bill Burks; other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and funeral to follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Elder Magellan Moore officiating in the chapel of the Wayne T. Lee Funeral Service, 1370 E. Main St., Columbus, Ohio. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
