Marjorie King Grandstaff, 85, of Fairmont, died Saturday (Aug. 31, 2013) at Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born March 21, 1928, in Clarksburg, to the late George and Mary Sconish King.
She was a member of the Ladies’ Shriners Isis Court No. 1, and Catholic by faith. She was co-owner with her late husband Morris J. Grandstaff of Community, Bellview, Tygart and Shinnston Foodland.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Gay Priolette and her husband Frank II of Fairmont; one son, Mark G. Grandstaff and his wife Lyla Grandstaff of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Gayle Grandstaff Gonzales and her husband Peter Gonzales of Leesburg, Va.; Mark Patrick Grandstaff of Warrenton, Va.; Casey Marie Grandstaff of Fairmont, James Dustin Grandstaff and Daniel Scott Grandstaff of Morgantown; two great-grandchildren, Brady Nicholas and Nathan James Gonzales; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother, Clarence (Bill) King and wife Lillian, and sister-in-laws, Charlotte King and Rose Grandstaff.
In addition to her husband, Morris Grandstaff, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard King.
The family would like to give a special thanks to caregivers, Kerri, Dolly, Shirley, Mary and Jackie; case worker, Darlene Harbert; the staff of 3B, Fairmont General Hospital, Tricia Julian and Dr. Perry Hall and staff for their caring and concern.
Per her request, Mrs. Grandstaff donated her body to Human Gift Registry. Family requests donations please be made in memory of Mrs. Grandstaff to Fairmont Hospice or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
