Kathleen Doris Davis, 77, of Fairmont, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Tuesday (Sept. 10, 2013), at Hopemont State Hospital in Terra Alta, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Fairmont on Dec. 22, 1935, a daughter of the late Roy B. and Lillie May (Knight) Davis.
Kathleen worked in several different fields throughout her career. She worked as an office clerk for Jones Department Store and Fairmont Supply Co. She was a caregiver to her siblings, niece and nephew. She was employed by Cleveland Trust Bank as a manager and by Ohio State University and Man Power as a secretary.
She was a member of Baptist Temple Church and a graduate of East Fairmont High School. She enjoyed art drawing, quilting, crocheting and her family pets, Spotty the dog and Panther the cat.
She is survived by three sisters, Carolyn Jean Headley of Lewis, Del., Janet L. Davis of Fairmont and Mary Jo Davis of Fairmont; and two brothers, Leroy Davis and his wife Virginia Sue of Brookpark, Ohio, and Allen Davis of Gladesville, Independence, W.Va.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Glen Davis of Ohio, Karen Montelone of Ohio, and Robin Boyd of Pennsylvania; five great-nieces and great-nephews and nine great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister at birth and a brother-in-law, Jackie Headley.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, her body will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Taylor County at a later date.
Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, has been entrusted with arrangements.
