Helen Duncil

Times West Virginian

— Word has been received from the family of Helen (Luszczynski) Duncil of Killeen, Texas, and formerly a longtime resident of Monongah, that Helen (Grandma, which she was called by so many) has passed into the hands of Our Lord.

Born on April 19, 1921, her life here on Earth ended Aug. 22, 2013. She truly was one of God’s dear sweet angels. Helen was the daughter of the late Paul and Joanna (Guntarsky) Luszczynski. She was formerly married to the late Harold L. Duncil and was the sister to the late Frank Lushinsky, John Lushinski Sr. and Margaret Pulka. Also preceding her in death are three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, two sons-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

Surviving family include two children, Janet (Knowles) Skarzenski and Paul E. Duncil; and one sister and one brother, Veronica Mick and Edward Luszczynski, both of Monongah.

“Grandma” was dearly loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Deina (Knowles) Foytik, husband Dale, children Jaecen and Rhys; Randall (Bo) Knowles Jr., wife Gina, children Taylor JoLynn, Mason Mitchell and his son Cason; D. Travis Knowles, wife Amanda, their child Holden, all of whom reside in Texas, and C. Taylor Knowles, wife Kasandra, children Brooke and Nathan, of Morgantown.

Helen also leaves many nieces and nephews. Our mom always saw the good in any person she met. Throughout her life she was a daughter, a factory worker, a wife, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother. We are proud of you. We love you, and you are greatly missed.

Special thanks to those who cared for her these last days: TEXMED Home Health and Gentiva Health Care.
