Helen M. Stydahar, 90, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., formerly of Shinnston, died Tuesday (Dec. 11, 2012) in the Country Meadows Retirement Home, Mechanicsburg.
She was born on March 9, 1922, in Owings, to the late Peter and Lucille Naglich Stydahar.
Helen graduated from Shinnston High School, Class of 1940. After high school, she attended the West Virginia Business College. Helen was an accounting supervisor and retired from Monongahela Power Co.
She was a member of the St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church, Silver Springs Township. She was a former member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Shinnston. Helen was a member of the Harrisburg Bridge Club and the Newcomers and Friends of the Capital Area. She was a former member of the Shinnston Woman’s Club.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her five brothers, John Stydahar, Joseph Stydahar, George Stydahar, Peter Stydahar and David Stydahar; her three sisters, Kathryn Stuart, Mildred Stydahar, and Mary Vukovich.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Thomas Dagle officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
