Ronald Ray Rogers, 83, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (June 26, 2013).
Mr. Rogers was born on July 24, 1929, in Monongah. Chief Master Sgt. Rogers retired from the United States Air Force after dedicating 32 years of service, where he was a boom operator serving during Operation Castle Bravo, Korean conflict and Vietnam era.
Subsequent to his distinguished military career, Ronald retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he was a quality inspector on the C-141 and F-15s. He was an avid golfer and was a marshal at the Landings Golf Club. His parents, W.F. and Rebecca Rogers, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 61 years, Nora Jane Rogers, of Warner Robins, Ga.; daughter, Ronna J. Nuzum (David), of Shinnston; son, Dennis K. Rogers (Pamela), of Warner Robins, Ga.; son, William S. Rogers, of Atlanta, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
Private graveside services with full military honors will be held in Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to Hospice Care Options, 136 Hospital Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
