Irvin William Headley Sr., 81, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and formerly of Fairmont, passed away Saturday (March 30, 2013) in Conway, S.C., following complications from an auto accident.
He was born in Fairmont on June 24, 1931, a son of the late Floyd and Gertrude Headley.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorotha Mae Headley, in May 1998.
Irv was retired from Becker Manufacturing and Aluminum Products of Fairmont with 44 years of service as a foreman. He enjoyed antiques and bowling in his earlier years.
He is survived by two sons, Irvin William “Bill” Headley Jr. and Randell “Randy” Headley and his wife Rose, all of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one daughter, Dianna Gillespie of Fairmont; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Colosimo.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
