Crystal Flannagan

Crystal L. Flannagan, 49, formerly of Enterprise, passed away Friday (April 5, 2013).

She was born Sept. 13, 1963, a daughter of the late Bryan J. and Eileen Freeman and the granddaughter of the late Charles “Chuck” and Virginia “Peggy” Hayes.

Crystal is survived by one daughter, Amanda Watson and husband Craig; one son, Sean Flannagan; three grandchildren, Christian, Zachariah and Dylan Leggett; her four siblings, David Freeman and wife Cindy, Michael Freeman and wife Susie, Cristina Wagoner, and Tina Looman and husband Duane; as well as her two nieces, six nephews, five great-nieces and one great-nephew.

Also surviving are her four biological siblings, Roberta Carpenter and husband John, Clarence “Rusty” Bunner and wife Diana, Kim Mills and Karen Hanson; along with five nephews.

Crystal was a 1980 graduate of Lincoln High School where she took part in the show choir and band. Crystal was an animal lover like no other. She was at her happiest being outdoors in nature, camping out, taking walks and riding bicycles. She also enjoyed cooking. One of her best and most-loved dishes was a family recipe originally made by her father Bryan, called “Farmer Brown Special.”

In addition to her parents and grandparents, Crystal was preceded in death by her biological mother and one sister.

Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, from 4-8 p.m. today. As per Crystal’s wishes, she will be cremated with a nature-based on-site memorial service for her family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the family at the funeral home.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
