Sarah Moore

Sarah Jean Moore, 56, passed away peacefully at her residence in Fairmont on Friday (Sept. 27, 2013).

There is nothing more special than a mother, and Sarah dedicated her life to being the most loving, caring mother and grandmother possible.

Born at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor, Maine, on June 1, 1957, Sarah spent her childhood years in Ohio before moving to West Virginia after high school. She had a special fondness for animals and loved music.

She is survived by her son, Brian Moore and his wife Chastity of Scott Depot; her daughter, Valerie Moore of Fairmont; her very special grandchildren, Wyatt Moore (7), Shelby Moore (4); her sister, Kathy Purcell of Richmond, Ky.; her father and stepmother Nelson and Kathryn Hartley of Orville, Ohio; her former husband, Okey Moore of Clarksburg; and several good friends and neighbors.

Sarah was preceded in death by her fiancee, Jim Tutalo, and her mother, Connie (Robinson) Hartley.

Friends will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Matt Holbert officiating.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
