William Fincham

Each song you hear from now on will sound a little sweeter because on Friday (Dec. 27, 2013), William Leroy Fincham joined Heaven’s House Band.

He was born Feb. 12, 1950, in Farmington, a son of the late Varner and Virginia Fincham.

Survivors include four children, William Leroy Fincham Jr. and wife Angela of Fairmont, Joshua Lee Fincham and wife Melinda of Farmington, Jamie Lynn Fincham of Los Angeles, Calif., and Michelle Anne Fincham of Farmington; a sister, Sally Frame of Farmington; and a brother, Bud Fincham of Farmington.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Fincham.

“Fatwillie,” as he was known, brought the gift of music and laughter wherever he went. He was a well-known local musician and entertainer with a great sense of humor and the ability to affect all those around him and bring them joy. He will be greatly missed.

Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Condolences may be accessed at

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
