Sandra Corley

Sandra Jo Digman Corley, 70, of Fairmont, passed away Friday (May 16, 2014) at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family.

Sandra was born in Fairmont, on Jan. 18, 1944. She graduated in 1961 from Fairmont Senior High School. She was office manager at Wilson Ford Lincoln Mercury, and retired in 2006 after 37 ½ years of service. She enjoyed time spent with family, traveling, cooking and baking. No one ever left her house hungry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Leigh and Martha Ellen Hall Digman.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, George Jack Corley (Junior) of Fairmont; her daughter, Tina Everson and her companion Jeremy (Jay) Hoover of Bridgeport; her sister, Patricia (Pat) Anderson of Bridgeport; her six grandchildren, Sean Everson, Brandon Everson and Samantha Hoover of Bridgeport and Corey Hoover, Justin Hoover and Damian Wilmoth of Buckhannon. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Judy (Jim) Jenkins of Fairmont; a brother-in-law, Ronnie (Scoogie) Corley of Baxter; a brother-in-law, Clarence (Zeke) Corley and his wife Diane of Ormond Beach, Florida; Aunt Goldie Corley of Monumental Community; Aunt Betty and Uncle Bernard Eddy of Rivesville; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Clarence (Lee) and Katherine (Kate) Corley; a brother-in-law, George J. Anderson Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Rymer Lee (Buck) Corley.

Sandra and her family would like to thank all of the special family neighbors for all of their love and support over the years.

The family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Amedisys Hospice Care, especially Chrissy, Jennifer and Julie, and also to Fairmont General Hospital for all the support during her final days.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, on Monday from noon until 2 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating. The committal service will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery & Mausoleum in Fairmont.
