Josephine L. Shuck, 79, of Pleasant Valley, went to be with the Lord Sunday (Jan. 19, 2014) at her residence.
She was born Aug. 6, 1934, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late James Arnett and Nellie Kline Willis.
Jo was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church of Fairmont. She was a 1953 graduate of East Fairmont High School. Jo was a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her family. She enjoyed reading her Bible and working puzzles.
Josephine is survived by her husband of 58 years, Roy E. Shuck; three sons, Eddie Shuck and wife Shelli, Gary Shuck, and Mark Shuck, as well as a daughter Kathi Trickett and husband Jay, all of Fairmont; two half-brothers Denny Arnett and Doug Arnett, both of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Adam Shuck and companion Tiona, Stacy Shuck and companion Roy, Britney Shuck and companion Austin, Mallory Shuck, Gavin Shuck, Gabrielle Shuck, Alyson Trickett and E.J. Trickett, all of Fairmont; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by one brother, James Arnett of Dayton, Ohio; stepmother, Josephine Arnett of Pennsylvania; and one half-brother, David Arnett of Pennsylvania.
Friends and family may visit at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. Mrs. Shuck will lie in state at the Trinity Assembly of God Church, 70 Samantha Drive, Fairmont, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the church with Pastor Ray Crabtree officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum.
