Ethel Grace Freeland Weber, of Boothsville, formerly of Metz and Boynton Beach, Fla., passed away at her residence on Friday (Jan. 24, 2014).
She was born in Marion County, a daughter of James Willard Freeland and Bessie Leah Glover Freeland.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter E. Weber in 1987, and an only brother, Paul Ray Freeland in 1986. She is survived by her three nephews, James, Paul and Charles Freeland, and her niece, Sarah Leah Freeland Williams.
She was educated in Marion County schools and Fairmont Business College in Fairmont, and attended St. John's River Junior College in Florida. Mrs. Weber was employed by Texaco Company in New York City, N.Y., for several years; Hope Gas Company in Clarksburg; and retired from the United States federal government, having worked in various areas of the eastern United States. She attended Boothsville Methodist Church.
At her request, a memorial service and gathering time will be held at the First Century Church on Route 250 North in Metz on Saturday at 1 p.m. Mrs. Weber has gifted her body for the advancement of medical science through the Human Gift Registry of West Virginia University, as had her dear brother. Her remains will be interred in the family cemetery plot at Harmony Church in Burton.
