Mary ‘Vangie’ Zickefoose

— Mary Evangeline Zickefoose, 86, of Covington, Ky., formerly of Lost Creek, died Wednesday (March 27, 2013) at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care, Edgewood, Ky.

She was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Tallmansville, a daughter of the late Squire E. and Gertie (Kelly) Miller. On March 22, 1944, she married Corbin V. Zickefoose, who preceded her in death in 2010.

Surviving are two sisters, Mildred (Billie) Zickefoose of Vermillion, Ohio, and Maudeline Barnett, of Zephyrhills Fla.; one daughter, Sharon Lilly and husband Steve of Hartselle, Ala.; one son, Larry Zickefoose and wife Deborah of Covington, Ky.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Sharon and Larry will deeply miss the apple pies and rum cakes!!

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Marstiller; and three brothers, Hartzel, Leonard and Lawrence Miller.

Mrs. Zickefoose attended Quiet Dell United Methodist Church and was a member of the Methodist Women and the Garden Club.

Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. George Bramble officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown.
