Times West Virginian

— Alfred Thomas “TC” “T-Man” Holloway, 79, of Fairmont, and formerly of Greentown and Dakota, passed from this life Tuesday (April 16, 2013) in Elkins under hospice care.

He was born in Roxboro, N.C., on Aug. 7, 1933, a son of the late Norman and Alma Gurse Holloway.

TC was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the Brown Sanitation Co. for more than 20 years.

He was a member of the Welcome Baptist church in Chesapeake. He enjoyed taking daily walks downtown, eating at Classics Café and fishing, and he was an avid gardener.

Uncle Alfred never married or had any children, but he was dearly loved and was surrounded by a host of his nephews and nieces. He had a very special great niece whom he affectionately referred to as “the boss,” Danah Holland, who extended kindness and loving care to him during his illness.

He also leaves behind to cherish his memory two sisters, Mary Coleman of Fairmont and Ruth Hutchinson, whose home he shared for a number of years before his illness.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Willie Lee, Donald, Ervin, Arnette and Norma Jean Holloway.

His family would like to thank the Hospice Inpatient Care Unit and Nellas Nursing Home in Elkins for their wonderful and compassionate care.

Alfred chose cremation for his method of disposition. A memorial service will be held at the Welcome Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens with full military rites being presented by the U.S. Air Force and the Marion County Honor Guard.
