Tammy Jo Ross

Tammy Jo Moore Ross of White Hall Community of Fairmont, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday (July 17, 2013) after a 13-year battle with breast cancer.

She was born Oct. 26, 1962, in Fairmont, by her loving parents Freddie D. and Mary Alice Martin Moore of West Union.

She also is survived by two sons, Tyler James Ross of Fairmont and Jordan Edward Ross of Morgantown; and her only sister Terry Ann (Chad) Moore Puccio of Monongah.

Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Edward R. Martin and Della May Vandergrift and paternal grandparents, Winifred Raymond and Della Snow Moore.

Tammy was a Doddridge County High School graduate. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Salem College.

Tammy was employed by Mon Power where she was the manager of business services. During her 29 years of employment she held the general manager of operations and general manager of accounting positions. Tammy led the implementation of the Smart Meter Project, a member of the SAP implementation team and the 2013 class for Leadership Marion.

Tammy’s life was built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. She was a member of the White Hall Church of Christ. Tammy taught many children’s and women’s Bible classes. She had a true gift of seeing the needs of others. She did whatever she could to meet that need not expecting anything in return. She mentored many young mothers and always lit up a room with her gentle smile and can-do attitude. Tammy led her life by following God’s word, using her gifts to glorify her Heavenly Father and enhancing the lives of her beloved sons and many friends.

She has been involved with many groups including, White Hall Church of Christ Warriors Relay For Life, Ohio Valley University Lacrosse Boosters, Fairmont Senior High School Lacrosse and Soccer boosters, Fairmont Senior High School Madrigals, and Domestic Hope.

Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. today at the White Hall Church of Christ. The service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the church with Evangelist Kevin Lough officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio Valley University Lacrosse Team, 1 Campus View Drive, Vienna, WV 26105 or White Hall Church of Christ, 3546 Fairmont Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
