Sheila May Kendzior, 71, of Fairmont, passed from this life Saturday (Nov. 30, 2013) at Mon General Hospital from complications with her heart.

She was born in Fairmont on April 6, 1942, a daughter of the late Clarence T. and Calantha Grace Jarrett Stotler.

Sheila was a devout Christian and active lifelong member of the former St. Paul, now LIFE United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Fairmont State College and served as a transportation clerk with the Monongahela Power Co. for more than 35 years. She was a member of the Mon Power Girls Club for many years. She was also a member of the Life Connect Bible Study for many years.

She seemed exceptionally blessed with the ability to help other, which she really enjoyed doing, in a variety of ways. She was most recently involved with the Grief Share program through her church, which she attended in the spring session and came back to help teach in the fall session.

Boy, did she love strawberries, the fruit, Christmas tree ornaments, cookie jars, whatever ... she really loved them. She also enjoyed flower gardening, reading, all types of sewing, crochet, cross-stitch, etc. and was an avid sports fan, especially all of Pittsburgh’s teams, and also all types of auto racing. Most of all, she really enjoyed her family gatherings.

Mrs. Kendzior is survived by her very loving daughter, Jennifer Kendzior, formerly of Indiana and now living in Fairmont, and her companion of 14 years, Jason Wright; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Barbara Stotler of Fairmont; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marquita and William Storms of Green Castle, Pa.; Brenda and Joseph Tucker of Newark, Dela.; and Avanell and William Klepper of Seguin, Texas; several nieces and nephews; also her feline children Crockett and Tubbs; two sisters-in law, Carol VanMeter and her husband David of Monongah, and Kimberly Kendzior and her companion Paula Harr of Virginia Beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Walter Gene Kendzior, who passed from this life on Jan. 7 of this year.

Sheila had chosen direct cremation as her method of disposition. Friends may call at the Frey Home For Funerals (Addition Chapel A), 320 Madison St., from 2-6 p.m. Friday.
