Marcella Zay Campbell, 87, of Route 2, Rivesville, passed away Tuesday evening (Jan. 29, 2013) in her residence.
She was born Nov. 9, 1925 in Marion County, daughter of the late Jules and Edna C. Bowman Hardesty. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nelson Campbell, who died in 1995.
Mrs. Campbell was a Methodist by faith. She was earlier employed at Westinghouse Corp., in Fairmont, working in the lamp plant. Mrs. Campbell enjoyed her crafts and country music. She always looked forward to the Sage Brush Roundup. She truly enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Williams of Rivesville, and Brad and his wife Sue Campbell of Rivesville; four grandchildren, Andrea and Danielle Williams of Rivesville, Jeffrey Kincaid of Virginia, and Skylor Campbell of Rivesville; three great-grandchildren, Alexis and Chase Crider and Aiden Craig, all of Rivesville; a sister, Viola Chase of Fairmont; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Coburn and Ona Erdie; one brother, Howard Hardesty; and an infant brother.
Friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Jasper Street, Rivesville, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Bill Toothman officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Pleasant View Community.
