Thomas Wayne Wilt

FAIRMONT — Thomas Wayne Wilt, 53, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of Fairmont, passed away Tuesday evening (March 6, 2012) in his residence.

He was born March 3, 1960 in Clarksburg, son of Martha J. Bankhead Wilt of Fairmont, and the late Paul C. Wilt.

He was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. Mr. Wilt was a member of Family Worship Center of Lakeland, Fla. He served Fairmont General Hospital as an assistant supervisor in housekeeping, with 27 years of service. Mr. Wilt truly enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and camping. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Wilt of Lakeland, Fla.; a son, Zachary Paul Wilt of Fairmont; a daughter, Ashley Wilt of Fairmont; two stepsons, Zachery and Gary Hulderman, both of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Hudson, Heston and Haylee Miller, and Mason Dixon, all of Fairmont; two sisters, Ava and Amber Wilt of Fairmont; three brothers, Steven Wilt of Fairmont, Brian and his wife Cathy Wilt of Albany, N.Y., and Joseph Wilt of Troy, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wilt has chosen cremation services. Family and friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, from 2-8 p.m. today and from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Bob Barker officiating.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
