— Paul Vendor Anderson, 78, of Rt. 3, Bridgeport, died Thursday (July 18, 2013) at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport.

He was born Jan. 11, 1935, in Bridgeport, the son of the late Denzil and Jessie (Goodwin) Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Lila Wilson Anderson, whom he married Nov. 5, 1955; also a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Rusty Efaw of Grafton, and sister, Linda Haught of Bridgeport. His grandchildren are Trampas Efaw and wife Misty of Morgantown, Kevin Efaw and wife Jessica of Grafton, and Cody Efaw of Grafton. Also, Chris Gilbert and Cassandra Sandridge of Georgia, Summer Mason of Williamstown, Courtney Anderson of Ohio and Mark Adkins. Mr. Anderson had nine great-grandchildren.

He was proceded in death by a son, Paul Roger Anderson.

Paul attended Grafton High School and had been an active member of the Boothsville Baptist Church since 1963. In his church he had been the Sunday School superintendent, worship leader, ordained deacon and member of the American Baptist Men.

He retired from the Alcan Aluminum Plant in Fairmont with 29 years of service and also drove school bus for Harrison County. Most recently he has spent his time at Champion Brake & Driveshaft, Inc. in Grafton with his son-in-law and grandsons.

He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport. Mr. Anderson will lie in state in the Boothsville Baptist Church, Boothsville, from 11 a.m.-noon Monday. The funeral service will be celebrated in the church on Monday at noon with the Rev. Gerald Nuzum and the Rev. Orville Wright presiding. The interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to Boothsville Baptist Church, Rt. 7, Rock Union Road, Fairmont, WV 26554.
