Lorraine Wills

Sister Lorraine Bass Wills, 92, departed this life on Wednesday (July 25, 2013) surrounded by family and friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Ronald and Renee Chaney.

Lorraine was born to the late Major and Lula Bass on April 17, 1921, in Enterprise. She was a former employee of the AAA Agency in Fairmont and was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church.

She enjoyed shopping, cooking and the fellowship with her loving family, especially Ronald Chaney Jr. and all of her grandchildren.

Mrs. Wills leaves to cherish her memories seven daughters, Renee (Ronald) Chaney (caregivers) and Wyomia Stevens of Fairmont, Delores Kindred, Geraldine Johnson, Henrietta Johnson and Lorraine (Willie) Russell, all of St. Louis, Mo., and Jessie Mae Wills Cofield, of Los Angeles, Calif.; one son, Earl (Michelle) Hughes of St. Louis, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Pearl Clopton of Columbus, Ohio; and a special friend, Mary Quaterman of Fairmont.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie R. Wills; two grandchildren, Brandon Jenkins and Dineice Wills; three sons-in-law, Charles Stevens Jr., Ezelle Johnson and Sonny Johnson; three sisters, Catherine Echols, Mary Bass and Grace Bass; and three brothers, Walter, Joe and John Bass.

Special thanks to the Hospice Care Center, Central WV Aging Services and the Aegis family.

Friends and family may call at the Morning Star Baptist Church on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the church, located at 100 McKinney St., with Pastor Wesley Q. Dobbs officiating. The final resting place will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.

    Sam Pellerite, 93, of Zephyrhills, Florida (formerly of Village Way, Fairmont), passed away on Wednesday (June 25, 2014) in Simpsonville, South Carolina, where he had been living with his daughter during his battle with cancer. Sam was born on Nov. 13, 1920, in Fairmont, the son of the late Vincent and Maria (Galiano) Pellerite. He was the loving husband of the late Teresa Mae “Terry” (Cirillo) Pellerite.

    Carmela retired from Westinghouse and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, also the Sharing and Caring group.
