Annie Puccio

Annie C. Puccio, 84, of Monongah, passed away Saturday (July 27, 2013) at Fairmont General Hospital.

She was born Sept. 28, 1928, in McCool, Md., daughter of the late Henry and Lula (Leatherman) Chucci.

Annie was a former employee of Owens Illinois Glass Factory, and a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah.

She is survived by three children, Deborah Puccio of Monongah, Tony Puccio and wife Sherry of Monongah and Josie Dalton and husband Larry of Maidsville; three grandsons, Chad Puccio and wife Terry, Andrew Dalton and wife Stephanie, and Matthew Dalton and wife Diana; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Puccio; four brothers, Fred, Kenneth, Joe and Vance; and two sisters: Josephine and Madeline.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont, from 2-8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m.-noon Tuesday. The funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday in the funeral home with Father Steve Joseph officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
