Bobbie J. Shaver, 74, of Mannington, passed away Friday (Jan. 17, 2014), at St. Barbara’s Nursing Home in Monongah.
He was born Oct. 11, 1939, at McCurdysville, a son of the late Lester Shaver and Freda Michael Shaver.
Bobbie is survived by the mother of his children, Tomi Lou Shaver of Fairmont; four children, Scott Shaver of Mannington, Craig Shaver of Mannington, Brian Shaver of Mannington, and Candy Shaver and husband Frank Baker of Lumberport; daughters-in-law, Kerri Shaver of Mannington and Tonya Shaver of Mannington; seven grandchildren, Aubrey Baker Conley and husband Chad, Cody Shaver and fiancé Faith Hartzell, Chelsea Shaver Starsick and husband Brenton, Alyssa Baker, Christian DeNoon, Bryce DeNoon and Molly Shaver; two great-grandsons, Corbin Conley and Benson Starsick; one sister, Mollie Shaver Wagner and husband Carl of Fairmont; four nephews, Joe and Penny Haught and family of Grant Town, Jeff Haught of Morgantown, Brad Haught of Bridgeport and Jason Haught of Fairmont.
Bobbie was a member the St. Patricks Catholic Church in Mannington, the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge. He worked for Corwin Ford for 35 years. He enjoyed working on his car and dancing. He was a longtime avid drag racer. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his cat.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. with Pastor Ivan Hawkins officiating. Per Bobbie’s request, cremation was his choice of final method of disposition.
