Charles Nolan McKinney, 71, of Little Mill Fall Road, Fairmont, passed away Monday (Feb. 3, 2014), at his home following a brief illness.
He was born in Marion County, on Sept. 15, 1942, a son of the late James and Freda McKinney.
Charles proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator by trade, working for Ryan’s Construction and W.S. Thomas Transfer. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fixing things, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Martha (Sheppard) McKinney of Fairmont; one daughter, Thelma Andre and her husband Issac of Sunrise, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Jack Shuck of Lexington Park, Md., Gregory Beauchamp, Kaitlyn Andre and Jordan Andre, all of Florida.
Also surviving are three brothers, William McKinney and his wife Jeanie of Mannington, John McKinney and his wife Ruth Ann of Farmington, and Butch McKinney and his wife Connie of Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews, including Loretta Teets, Kelly Collins, Bud Teets, Josh Teets and Mike Teets; and several great-nieces and great-nephews, including Landon Teets, Josie Collins and Jenna Collins, all of Fairmont.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack Shuck; and two sisters, Becky Watkins and Patricia McKinney.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, his body will be cremated.
Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
