Fred Rosser

Fred Wayne Rosser Sr., 52, of Fairmont, passed suddenly and unexpectedly from this life Thursday (Feb. 13, 2014) at Fairmont General Hospital.

He was born in Fairmont on Dec. 27, 1961, a son of the late Charles Eugene and Jessie Wanita Bowman Rosser.

Fred was a construction worker and worked for local construction companies. He enjoyed working on cars, model cars, watching wrestling, fishing, tinkering, working crossword puzzles and playing Car Town on his computer. He was a Christian by faith.

Mr. Rosser is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Tammy Kay Truman Rosser; one daughter and her fiancé, Ellenor Rosser and Paul Michael Jenkins, both of Fairmont; three sons, Fred W. “Freddy” Rosser Jr. and his wife Patricia “Peanut,” Charles L. Rosser and his fiancée Claudia Orr, all of Fairmont, and James A. Rosser and his wife Rebecca of Clarksburg; his sister, Virginia Lyle of Texas; three grandchildren, Michael R. Jenkins, Hannah Rosser and Adam A. Jenkins; his canine buddy, MOTO, his feline buddy, CALLIE; his best friend of several years, Virgil Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Michael Rosser.

In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene at a later date that will be announced.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
