Denver Wesley Whitehair, 66, of Fairmont, passed away Thursday (Feb. 13, 2014) at Fairmont General Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Richie County on April 30, 1947, a son of the late Harley and Edith Elizabeth (Miller) Whitehair.
Denver was retired from North Pole Ice Co. in Clarksburg, where he worked as an ice maker and delivery truck driver. He attended the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Fairmont, and he enjoyed listening to country music and spending time with his cat, Mee Mee.
He is survived by one brother, Gail Richard Whitehair and his close friend Karen of Fairmont; four sisters, Deloris Vanetti of Fairmont, Ester Szczyt of Fairmont, Virginia Lucas and her husband Larry of Georgia, and Patty Eries of New York; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend and caregiver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, his twin, Dennis Whitehair, John Whitehair, David Herrington and Gene Whitehair.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Dr. Holley Faulkner officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
