Mary Sturm

Mrs. Mary Moscar Sturm, 83 years of age, of Grafton, passed away peacefully at Rosewood Center on Wednesday (June 19, 2013).

She was born May 21, 1930, in Clarksburg to the late Anthony and Anna Phillips Moscar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Thomas Sturm, whom she married Aug. 10, 1954.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Grace Moscar Moran and a great-grandson, Joshua Beal.

She is survived by six children, Ann Gerkin and her husband Steve, Tom Sturm and his wife Jill, Leisa Jones and her husband Jeff, Frank Sturm and his wife Dee Ann, Andy Sturm, and Matt Sturm and his partner Hank Soutter; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1949. She enjoyed selling Avon and visiting flea markets. She also worked in her flower gardens, but her true love was her family and having them around her. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

The family gives a very special thank you and love to the staff of Rosewood Center for their compassion, caring and attendance to “Mom’s” needs and Hospice Care of Taylor County.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mary’s memory to Mary Ellen Gray Fund at Rosewood Center, 8 Rose Street, Grafton, WV 26354.

At Mary’s request, there will not be a visitation. A graveside service will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Monday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Grafton, with Rev. Father James E. O’Connor presiding.

Condolences may be extended to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.

The Sturm family has entrusted the care and arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport.
