—  Otie W. Hayhurst of Wyatt died at the Tygart Center Nursing Home on Sunday (Dec. 2, 2012).

She was born June 28, 1925 in Harrison County, a daughter of the late William and Nora D. Pitzer Rohm.

Otie married Kenneth E. Hayhurst on June 11, 1943 and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1981.

She is survived by four children, William E. “Sonny” Hayhurst and wife Navonda of Worthington, Janice A. Wilson and husband Allen of Mannington, Lenita M. Wagner of Wyatt, and Rita N. Komar and husband Peter of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren, Tabatha M. Hayhurst and fiancé Matthew Keith, Adrian B. Hayhurst and wife Marcie, John A. Wilson, Nicholas L. Wilson and wife Sandy, Ginneh R. Wagner Mouser and husband Chris, Philip L. Wagner and fiancée Stacy Martin, Benjamin T. Wagner and fiancée Amanda Shaver, and Eden D. Komar; five great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Glaspell-Wilson, Xander and Chloe Mouser, and Derek and Brenna Wilson; and her brother, Danny Rohm.

In addition to her parents and husband, Otie was preceded in death by four sisters; two stillborn infants; Sue Barnes and Gladys Humphrey; and her two brothers, Robert and Raymond Rohm.

She was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a Christian and a member of Wyatt Union Fellowship Church and was earlier a member of Oakdale EUB Church where she worked as a treasurer and teacher for many years. Otie was also a member of the Grangeville extension homemakers and the Grangeville 4-H Club. She liked to read, grow flowers and quilt. The family would like to thank the Tygart Center Nursing Home employees and staff for their care of Otie.

Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, from 2-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. Wednesday to the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Roy Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Amedisys Hospice Care at PO Box 366, Anmoore, WV 26323.
