— Edith Jacqueline “Jackie” Faulkiner, 71, of Fairmont, passed away Friday (June 28, 2013) at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.

She was born Jan.1, 1942, in Smyrna, Del., a daughter of the late George Hart and Mary Juanita Allen Hart.

Ms. Faulkner was the retired owner and operator of Jackie’s Beauty Spot of Fairmont with 40 years of service in the Marion County area. She was a former bowler in the Fairmont area and enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking and gardening with her oldest granddaughter, Jessica. She loved being with family and friends. She had a zest for life and enjoyed traveling with Brian’s cheering events. She was always a beautiful, classy lady whom everybody loved. She was known by many as “Gig.”

Survivors include her two sons, Michael E. Faulkiner and his partner Jeffrey Carpenter, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brian E. Faulkiner of Hurricane; a daughter, Pam Bombard of Fairmont; a half-sister, Dorothy Corderio of Delaware; and a sister-in-law, Janet Hart of Delaware. Her companion, Jerry Harris of Pleasant Valley community, survives. Grandchildren include Jessica Snelson and her husband Bobby, Jonathan Harris, Jade Bombard, and Maddie and Kattie Kines. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, from both Delaware and West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Kines, and her son-in-law, Philip Kines; four brothers, Butch, Buddy, Gene and Winfield Hart; and three sisters, Nanabelle Hart, Margie Huffman and Veronica Hart.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 122 South High St., Morgantown WV 26501, in recognition of family members who have battled cancer.

Friends may come to the Everson Baptist Church, Manley Chapel Road, Fairmont, on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the church at 4 p.m. to celebrate her life. A gathering and meal will be provided at 5 p.m. at the Gateway United Methodist Church, 301 Diamond St., Fairmont, following the service. A private interment will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum at a later time for the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont.
