Jennifer Thorne

Jennifer Lynn Main Thorne, 39, of Fairview, died unexpectedly Monday (July 8, 2013) in her home.

She was born Feb. 18, 1974, in Waynesburg, Pa., a daughter of Arthur Lee and Sandra Raye Eddy Main of Fairview, and had resided in the Fairview area all her life.

Mrs. Thorne was a 1992 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and received certification in cosmetology from the Greene County Vo-Tech in 1993.

She was an avid collector of pigs and loved and adored all animals.

Mrs. Thorne was a member of the Blacksville (W.Va.) V.F.D.

She has been a certified consultant with Scentsy Fragrance since 2010, and this past year established Hog Wild Graphics, designing banners, T-shirts and signage, and has been employed as the secretary for Lee Main Excavating of Blacksville for the past 20 years.

On Sept. 1, 2001, she married James Elias Thorne II, who survives.

Also surviving in addition to her parents and husband are a daughter, Whitney Lyn Moore, girlfriend of Travis Holmes, at home; a sister, Sami Jo Main, fiancee of Ryan Tennant of Fairview; paternal grandmother, Clarice A. “Todd” Kughn Main of Rogersville, Pa.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Deceased are her maternal grandparents, William and Mary Kennedy Eddy; and paternal grandfather, Joseph Monegar Main.

Friends will be received from 2-9 p.m. Friday in the Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Ed Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pet Helpers, 726 East Park Ave., PMB311, Fairmont, WV 26554.

  • Nuke-arms grade stock has been cut by Iran

    Iran has converted three quarters of a nuclear stockpile that it could have turned quickly into weapons-grade uranium into less volatile forms and is well on the way toward transforming the rest, the U.N. atomic agency reported Thursday.
    The development — agreed to by Iran under a nuclear deal it struck late last year with six world powers — leaves Tehran with substantially less of the 20-percent enriched uranium that it would need for a nuclear warhead.
