— Rose Muto, 91, of Fairmont, joined the angels of heaven on Saturday (Dec. 28, 2013) at the Fitzwater’s Assisted Living Facility in Fairmont.

She was born Dec. 26, 1922, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late John and Chiara Pulice Muto. She was preceded in death by her husband, Millie James Muto, on July 1, 2010.

Mrs. Muto was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Rose was a loving homemaker within her own home. She was a member of the Saint Teresa guild in the church and sang in the church choir. She loved and supported the Special Olympics. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom she dedicated herself and her life.

Survivors include her son, Tony and his wife Sylvia Muto of Hagerstown, Md.; a daughter, Paula and her husband Bill Kurczak, of Fairmont; grandchildren William Ryan Kurczak and his wife Melissa, Kayla Kurczak, John and his wife Lauren Muto, Mark and his wife Lisa Muto, and Diana and her husband Aaron Beatty; great-grandchildren Josephine, Isabella and Michael Muto, Leo and Samuel Beatty; a sister, Mary Loria of Fairmont; a sister-in-law, Irene Martino; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe, Sammy, Frank, Dominick and Pasco “Peachy” Martino; a sister, Anna Riggi; and her sisters-in-law, Alvie Popp and Ann Criado.

The family wishes to thank Fitzwater’s Assisted Living Facility for the dedicated and loving care they have provided to Rose over the past several years.

Friends and family may call the Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, Thursday from 1-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Ulam, O.S.B., as Celebrant.
