Alladean Murphy

Alladean (Cunningham) Murphy, 85, of Booths Creek Road, Fairmont, passed away Monday (March 31, 2014) at Fairmont General Hospital.

She was born in Webster County on April 27, 1928, a daughter of the late Roy and Eula (Weese) Cunningham.

Alladean was a registered nurse by trade. She served Marion County as a nurse for more than 50, years working for Dr. Robert Janes for 28 years, and most recently retiring from Alcan/Novelis Aluminum Plant as their nurse. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Clarksburg. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and Quota Club of Fairmont.

She is survived by her loving husband of more than 60 years, Lloyd F. Murphy of Fairmont; two sons, Steve Murphy and Mike Murphy of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Morgan Murphy, Adam Murphy, Patrick Murphy and Jessica Cutlip; and two great-grandchildren, Jake and McKenna.

Also surviving are three brothers, Larry Cunningham and his wife Aleda of Dunnellon, Fla; Roy Cunningham of Sutton and Ronnie Cunningham of Erbacon; three sisters, Mable Adkinson of Dunnellon, Fla.; Mary Foy of Morgantown and Sible Odel of Cowen; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Cunningham and Kenneth Cunningham; and a sister, Thelma Bean.

Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Hal Hevener officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Fairmont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Louis A. Johnson VAMC, Attn: Volunteer Services (135) 1 Medical Center Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301.

Sam was born on Nov. 13, 1920, in Fairmont, the son of the late Vincent and Maria (Galiano) Pellerite. He was the loving husband of the late Teresa Mae “Terry” (Cirillo) Pellerite.
