Theresa M. Martino, 93, of Fairmont, passed away Thursday (May 2, 2013) at the Arbors at Fairmont.
She was born Oct. 30, 1919, in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy, daughter of the late Salvatore “Sam” and Mary Audia (Ruggiero) Riggi.
Theresa worked at Westinghouse and later Owens-Illinois. She was also employed at Johnny’s Bakery, which was owned by her brother Johnny Riggi.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Rina Martino of Fairmont; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Rich Marino of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Gina and John Dahlia, Sandra Martino, Sam Martino, Katrina and Matt Szarko, Rick and Laura Marino, Mike and Lisa Marino, Brian Marino, Christina and Joe McLaughlin; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Dominick Riggi of Fairmont; sister, Rosa Ruggiero Granato of San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy; and one sister-in-law, Renee Ruggiero of Fairmont. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Samuel Martino; three sisters, Rose Price, Angie Fargo and Katie Garrett; and five brothers, Tony, John and Frank Riggi of Fairmont, Paul Riggi of Ohio, and Dominick Ruggiero of Fairmont.
Friends and family may call at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont, from 1-8 p.m. Sunday with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Larry Cann officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum in Fairmont.
