Norma Jean (Stewart) Perkins, 76, of Opekiska Ridge Road, Fairmont, passed away Friday (May 3, 2013) at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Opekiska on March 11, 1937, a daughter of the late Wayne Edward and Gladys Eleanor (Brock) Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Eugene Perkins, in June of 2010.
Norma Jean was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and loved her family and spending time with all of them.
She is survived by her three sons, Robert Wayne Perkins and his wife Susan of Fairmont, Pastor Mark Eugene Perkins and his wife Karen of Triadelphia, and Chad Perkins and his companion Michele Jurick of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Mandie VanGilder and her husband Jason of Fairmont, Adam Mayle of Fairmont, and Christa Bush and her husband Ken of Avonmore, Pa.; and five great-grandchildren, Amber VanGilder, Cole VanGilder, Sara VanGilder, Julie Bush and Lindsay Bush.
Also surviving is her sister, Regina Kay Stewart of Fairmont, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont ,on Monday from 2-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Barker officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Monongalia County.
