— Amelia Rita Mike, 90, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully Saturday morning (May 18, 2013) at her daughter and son-in-law’s residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 7, 1923, in Fairmont, daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Tano) Nanni. Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, Patsie E. Mike, in 1997.

She attended St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Fairmont. Amelia enjoyed her word search puzzles, playing cards, music, television and family gatherings.

She is survived by her son, Joseph P. Mike and his wife Judy of Fayetteville, Ga.; a daughter, Rosemary Bonasso and her husband David of Fairmont; grandchildren, Matthew Mike and wife Whitney of Atlanta, Marie Smith and husband Nate of Hampton, Ga., Brian Mike of Auburn, Ala., David Bonasso and wife Dea of Sterling, Va., and Cristina and Joseph Bonasso of Fairmont; and two great-grandchildren, Mila Mike of Atlanta and Liam Smith of Hampton, Ga.

Her survivors also include sisters, Susan Giles and husband Robert of Atlanta, Mary Louise and husband Leonard of Tyrone, Ga., and Carolyn Rudash of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Pat Nanni of Arlington, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Rocco Nanni; and one sister, Yolanda Nanni.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Amelia’s wonderful caregivers, Heather, Betty, Debbie, Donna, Mary and Julie.

Friends and family may call at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont, from 2-8 p.m. today, with a vigil being held at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Father Robert Perriello as celebrant. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Amedisys Hospice, 607 Casino Drive, Suite 102, Anmoore, WV 26323.
