Neva Brock

Neva Armeda Brock, 95, of Fairmont, passed from this life Thursday (March 20, 2014) at Ruby Memorial  Hospital, after a brief illness.

She was born in Taylortown, Pa., on Jan. 12, 1919, a daughter of the late George F. and Lydia J. Spitznogle Brock.

She was Baptist by faith. She retired as a data processor for the Westinghouse-Philips Lighting Co.

She was a very charismatic and fun-loving lady that didn’t know an enemy. She enjoyed visiting and helping others, working crossword puzzles, and also growing flowers and tomatoes (which she always gave to others). She was also an active member of her travel club for many years. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Miss Brock is survived by one niece, Paula Sensoli and her sons, Jeffrey and Scott Sensoli, and her daughter, Wendy Abercrombie, all of Michigan; one nephew, James Young and his children, James and Kate, all of Portland, Ore.; her cousin, Richard Brock and his son and family, Joseph Brock, all of Fairmont, his two daughters, Becky Herber and family, of Bruceton Mills, and Nela Stennett and family, of Hurricane; also her neighbors and friends, who helped her in many ways, Martha Fryar and Betty Cain, both of Fairmont.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret “Peg” and Jim Young, and Helen and Paul Minor. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In keeping with her wishes, there was no public visitation. She was laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery, near her birthplace, with a private committal service conducted by Rev. Melvin Ringer.

The Frey Home For Funerals is honored to serve Miss Neva and her family. Condolences may be extended to her family at either www.freyhomeforfunerals.com or fhff320@aol.com.
